The truth is that I'm so conventional I put myself to sleep.<BR/><BR/>For the Bush administration, the collapse of the twin towers was like drawing to an inside straight. This was the Pearl Harbor the Neocons were praying for. (They were convinced that only a war or a religious revival would strengthen America's moral fiber. They saw little hope for the former so they staked all their hopes on the latter As usual, they were wrong.)<BR/><BR/>I am willing to believe that the administration knew the attacks were coming and chose not to act on them.
